WeatherTech floor mats

Post by canuck37 »

I ordered some WeatherTech floor mats for my '03 Baja recently, direct from WT. Got an email today from them saying they don't make one for my car but promise that their "generic" model W52 would be a good fit.........

Anyone have any experience with WT mats (not liners) and if so, can you provide the model # you got? When I ordered them off their website, their "fitment" guide said they had one custom made for the Baja, but then the email came saying otherwise. Wonder if any other Subaru model has the exact same floorplan as the 03 Baja, in which case maybe I should order that one.

Any thoughts? I checked the archives and there are some old references, nothing specific or newer.

Not familiar with that manufacturer. If they make one for an 00-04 Leg/Outback it will be the same with the exception of the cutout for the trunk/gas door release.

I also looked online for WT floormats, but I actually didn't see any item for Bajas. I would say the email is true, in this case. How does the generic one differ from the '00-'04 Leg one?

WeatherTech wrote back again saying they would not pay for returning them if I wasn't satisfied with the fit, so I cancelled the order. I think I will go with Husky floor mats if I can find out the exact part # that others here have apparently used and been satisfied with. Any help out there??

Have you looked at the Subaru winter floor mats? My local dealer sells them for about $60 for the set of front/back. I got a set for the GF and they are a very nice mat. Nice and deep to hold lots of slop and they stay flexible even in the cold.

Haven't seen them! Any chance you could post a couple of pics?? If you have the part # for the ones you bought for your Baja, that would be great too. Thanks!!

I got a set of newer Legacy matts for her SVX so of course the fit isn't 100%.

Here is a link

I assumed they would just have a Legacy/OB set with the trunk/gas lever cutout, but they also have a Baja set for the same price. It even has a hole to utilize the stay and prevent a Toyota runaway...

I use the winter floor mats from a 2005 STI and they fit perfectly. The factory suby ones are nice and inexpensive. Don't buy the off brands, you won't like them.

I wanted WT but went with the Subaru rubber mats. They fit and were only 40 bucks. BTW I spent like 2 hours looking for better than the Subaru ones but you just can't find them.

My experience with the Subaru mats is not good. They are a very soft rubber and they crack at the joints due to flexing. I threw them out.

WTs are great but don't fit the Baja. I went with the Husky Liner. They work, but don't fit as well as the WT liners generally do for cars they support. I have WT liners on our Impreza and the fit is perfect. Too bad.
