Problems with stereo cutting off.

Post by thane »

I have a Baja sport and every time I turn right the radio cuts out and comes back on as soon as I straighten the wheel. Can anyone help me this is really annoying.

normally i would say an issue with the ground, but it sounds like a cable is caught on the steering column. have you looked under the dash?

No, I haven't I was hoping someone else would have found the same problem and would know how to fix this. I was trying to keep this as stock as possible. I had to pull my dash apart on my Blazer and it was never the same.

It does sound like your radio wire is being pinched.
I'd pull off the panel below the steering wheel. It's fairly easy.
If you really don't want to remove that panel you can try to just look up from below the steering wheel.

If you have a multimeter you can see how the fuse panel behaves when you turn the wheel.
