I have a 2006 Baja. It came with the keyless entry system. (Key Fob) when locking the doors with the key fob it also sets the alarm.
So when I hit the lock button on the key fob it locks all the doors but the drivers door. when I test the door to see if it locked the alarm starts blaring. I sat in the car and hit the lock on the fob and noticed the latch on the drivers door starts to move to the locked possition but doesnt quite make it over all the way. If I hit it several more times it attempts to continue to move a bit more but never gets all the way over.
When I hit the unlock button the latch moves a bit but doesnt come all the way. So I am walking out to my car, I nonchalantly hit the unlock button on my key fob and nearly rip my fingers out! I dont like having to kit the key fob unlock button and then unlock the door with the key anyway.
If I hit the lock button and then unlock the door with the key the alarm starts going!
Is the actuator that moves the lock either open or locked weak and in need of repair or will a little WD40 do the trick.
If so are their any tricks I need to know about getting the door panel off and to the actuator. Or should I hoist the white flag and head to the dealership?

Re: Remote lock issues
This same behavior happened to my car when my wife and I hit each of our keyfobs at the same time.
It put the car into "Valet mode" which causes this type of behavior.
Mine is a 2003 model and I think they changed it after 2003 to a different style keyfob.
To enter the valet mode, open the driver's door and keep the unlock button on the transmitter depressed for more than two seconds. The security system status indicator light will continue to flash twice per second indicating that the system is in the valet mode.
To exit valet mode, open the driver's door and keep the unlock button on the transmitter pressed for more than two seconds. The indicator will stop flashing.
If you go to http://www.cars101.com/baja.html and click your Model Year, they have keyfob programming instructions.
