Hi everybody, just got a 2005 turbo AT and am loving it! I'm a gadget kind of guy and was immediately drawn to the swiss-army-knifeness of this car.
I do have some concerns though, when I'm stopped at a stoplight there's a rumbling coming from the front of the car, sometimes it goes away on its own and it always goes away when i let off the brake or shift it into park. Any ideas?
Its also making a grinding noise when the steering wheel is turned to a certain degree (while moving) and there's also some burning smell coming from the engine compartment. I just found out that the inner CV joint likes to fail on these cars so I'll check that out today.
Also I've heard of turbos failing on this car, is there anything I can do to prevent that from happening?

I get that noise, too. It's from the tire rubbing on the ice in my wheel well. Any chance you're in the north, too. There's not a lot of wheel clearance on the Baja.

Seriously, look for evidence of the tire rubbing somewhere. It would explain the burning smell under the hood, too.
