How common (or uncommon) are they? Seems we might have need for a 2nd daily, and although I love the Baja, we certainly cant afford another one. My Ranger is a good truck, but it's 2wd-and after having a 4x4 Bronco and the AWD Baja, we just dont want to drive a 2wd in the snow anymore! Most of the Brats I see are stick, and I dont drive stick. Sooo...I'd want an A/T. I'm sure I could find another Ranger 4x4 as a winter beater, but since we've wanted a Brat for a long time, esecially since we bought the Baja, it seems like it's worth a look. might not even need one, still unsure of the work issue that woulfd make it nessisary...

A/T ones exist, there is one for sale in Medford Oregon area, I've seen afew others too.
So why not learn to drive stick? Learn on a brat and if you burn up the clutch, afew hours and $90 would replace it in your garage

I agree with learning to drive stick, it's just plain fun! I prefer stick over auto anytime.
Unfortunately, Brats and salted roads don't mix too well. That's why they're so rare here in the NE. The salt gods got them all a long time ago.
Mine will stay home during the winter months. Well, maybe just a little romp in the snow before the salt trucks and plows get around :)

Unfotunatly there are not many (any??) brats around here- I've been looking for one locally for several years now (since BB (Before Bajas) That is why I got my Baja- cause I can't have a Brat (well find one) As for stick driving- Well I just taught my 60 year old Arthritic Mother in Law to drive stick (she now has a Kia Sportage 5 speed and she has never looked back) and if She can learn ANYONE can- (Yes we did burn up the clutch in the learning car- a 96 Escort wagon with 90,000 miles on it- so the clutch was probably gonna need replacement soon anyway). Hell If you want I'll teach ya in my Baja!!!! (ok maybe not) Hey if you want a nice winter ride- I have my 98 Dakota 4x4 V8 5 speed for sale- I'll even teach ya to drive stick in that!

I'm having a hard time finding a Brat myself. And you should learn how to drive manual, it's so much fun! You really feel in tune with the car that way. ^_^
