Door locks

Post by MNbuckshot »

Just got my first Subaru Baja it's an 03 and it's got a few weird quirks I'm trying to straighten out. One of the most perplexing is that the electronic door locks will only work if the key is in the ignition and turned to the on position. Never had a car do this before wondering if any of yall have seen this in your Bajas before? Or have an idea of whare to start looking for the issue

Sounds like someone connected it to the wrong side of the fuse.

Fuse shouldn't have anything to do with it. One side of a fuse should be power, and the other side SHOULD also be power unless the fuse is blown. It does sound like it is improperly connected somewhere, and it is now powered up on an ignition only circuit rather than on a battery power circuit. I believe someone on here has a link to an electrical schematic. Dennis
