Perhaps a rather silly brake pad question

Post by mikeeitup »

I am getting the Subaru 4 pot caliper upgrade soon and I would also like to buy pads but I can't seem to find the right answer. I'm looking at the EBS red stuff pads to put on and I read that 2006-2007 WRX pads are the way to go. When I try and get a part number to order, I can't find it! Does anybody know the part number or what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

I ordered:
DP31200C
DP3826C
for the front and rear, respectively.

These are for 2006/2007 USDM WRX, among other cars using those brakes.

I have ran a set of these on my turbo cars for years, they are great and look really good. But... I also have a set of conventional WRX Brakes (2002-2005) fronts, and legacy "H6" rears on my 2003 Baja. (IE. What the Baja comes with stock) With aggressive pads on both cars, there is virtually no difference in pedal feel or braking ability. The Baja has the same diameter rotors already as the 4/2 pot upgrade. The only exception (besides fixed vs sliding calipers) is the Baja has solid rear rotors instead of ventilated. If you wanted vented rotors, all you need to do is install 2005 Legacy GT rear rotors and calipers.

What I'm getting at is the 4/2 pots are really for looks, rather than a performance upgrade. And if you are ok with that (I am!) then by all means go for it.

I hadn't heard that the Baja wheels clear the 4 pots fronts with no spacers, that is definitely good info to have!

Looking to upgrade to a 5x114.3 lug pattern on my 04 Baja.
Besides hubs and rotors, what else can I scavenge from the local yard?
Id like to have room too for 15" wheels yet
