WANTED: Spare tire lft kit or cable

AAA cut the end of the spare tire cable while changing the tire on my 2005 Subaru. I'm having a tough time finding either the kit, the cable or a creative and secure solution. It's getting old driving around with in my back seat. I'm in Chicago if that means anything. All ideas welcome.

Keep an eye out in junkyards or partouts. You might also ask the dealer if they can get a hold of a new one. If you want to post a wanted ad, we have a buying/selling section for that.
