turbo upgrade?
I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a turbo upgrade. Nothing huge (yet). I've wanted to swap a vf39 or vf48 on my Baja. I already have a sti tmic, ebcs, and catless up pipe and downpipe. My question is, do I have to upgrade my fuel injectors or fuel pump if I go with a sti turbo? Also, is there any other parts needed for the swap? Yes I know I'll need it retuned right away.
Re: turbo upgrade?
Technically a tune is all you need but a fuel pump is a good idea. If you want to push the turbo to it's limits you probably will need to upgrade injectors as well. But with with stock injectors and a good tune you will see a nice power increase.

Did you ending up following through with the upgrade? If so how much for the whole swap and how did it pan out?

Re: turbo upgrade?
I have not done the turbo yet. I've been working 14 hour days 6 days a week since September 2nd. Not to mention it is night shift. I haven't had time.
As for cost. It's hard to say. I wasn't in any rush, so I waited for deals. I think my sti tmic I paid 130 for. Sti bpv was 25. vf39 used with 40k on it was 300. EBCS was 100 and the uppipe downpipe and catback exhaust was cheap and slowly pieced together, maybe 500 - 600.
I have seen prices as much as double what I paid on other forums and ebay.
I should have everything done come early April. Pending this job asignment finishes up and the weather is nice.
