removing the bed extender?

what's the easiest way to remove the bed extender? It looked like you'd just pop it up from where it sits in it's pivot bracket. the PO seems to have either hit the thing or loosened all the set screws, since all the pipe pieces are sliding out of the plastic spacers in the middle and the ends.

I need to get the whole assembly out so I can lay it out, clean it up and reassemble properly.

Swivel it till it points straight up...then lift straight up....
