Chip tune

Post by robmobile1970 »

I just got my subaru baja and am interested in a chip tune. For my previous vehicle VW TDI there were many chip tuning services available. Generally you remove your ECU and fedex it off to them and they would "reflash your chip" with a new "map" for increased performance. It would cost around $250. You weren't buying a tuner box or device to program your own chip. You were sending your chip/ ecu off to be reprogrammed and they would send it back to you with a new "map".

I'm not seeing anything like this for subaru. I'm seeing where you can buy your own programming box to program your own chip for $700+. I'm also seeing add on devices that "trick" the O2 or other sensors to make your car run a bit richer.

I'm looking for a reflash that will program my ECU to give a bit more boost, run slightly richer, and perhaps more timing IOT maximize power...... Does this exist for SUBARU like it does for a VW TDI????
