I have this issue too. I have a 2004 Sport and it's bugging the crap out of me. Every time it rains, water seems to collect under the front drivers side floor and I can hear the water sloshing around while driving. it's really annoying, don't know where the leak is coming from though or how to stop it. anybody else have this issue?

Hi there I just logged on and found your request for info on the leaky sun roof and water under floor mats.
My 06 Baja had the same leak with water getting under the drivers side mat; I ripped the whole interior out and carpet too allow it to dry for a couple of weeks while I set too and tried to find the ingress of water.
As it turned out the sun roof and wind shield as reported by some members were not the problem, the frig'n pinch welds along the under side door sills are meant to have drain slots in various places, mine were nearly closed.
If these don't drain properly, water from the front inner wheel arch behind the mud flaps and water running down each A Pillar between front door hinge area and lower part of front fender at rear can fill up and back flow into the door sill box section.
This will be where you here water sloshing around, eventually it finds it way inside the vehicle. What a unbelievably( CRA..Y DESIGN) Know wonder Subaru sold so few of these vehicles.
My fix is to jack the vehicle up or hoist and check these drain slots. all you can do is to try and drive a small punch or screw driver up and lever them open.
After I did this I flushed that area as mentioned above with lots water to see how it all drained BINGO!!!
I believe the cause is build up of dirt behind the inner guard or mud flap which will eventually cause some blockage.
Good luck Every One.
Murray :)
