Hey all, been awhile.
I just recently purchased an ARE bed cover for the Baja for a song, tried it out for awhile and decided I liked it. The thing is, my Baja is silver and the cover is maroon. Im thinking that I may just paint it a flat black instead of the expected silver. Maybe even coat it in plasti dipl what do you guys think?

Hmm, I think flat black on top of a shiny silver car would look fugly. 
. I have a silver 03 with a silver ARE cap and think it looks fine. The windows are tinted black so it breaks up the silver quite a bit so you dont look like a gray cloud rolling down the road. Also, the roof racks help break it up to...

I agree, I think you should paint as expected. A black cap over grey, not a good look.
