Day Time Running lights stay on even with the ignition off.

Post by Flexbuffly »

I think I have an electrical issue on my 2003 5MT. The DRL stay off even after I turn off the ignition and pull the key. Even waited a few minutes just in case they were on a timer that I didn't recall. I was able to pull the 20A fuse for the lighting. That did fix the problem, but needless to say I think my electrical problems have only just begun.

Anyone know how much it will cost to get the electrical repaired?

Any tips/ideas before I head to the dealership?

Problem solved. Accidentally turned on the parking lights on the steering wheel column.

I was just about to suggest that. I did the same thing and spent a few hours trying to find a short. I finally noticed it right before the guy from Autozone tested my alternator/battery...he thought it was very amusing.

Glad you figured it out. :)
