New Guy Here

Post by Geno777 »

New guy here, My name is Gene Terenzio Sr. Just want to say hello to all of you.
I bought my Baja about 4 months ago.
It's a 2005, has 76.000 miles.
I was searching for a tonoue cover and only found one manufacture.
He wanted a lot of money for it, At least i think so.
Plus when I talked to him he told me it could be taken off in Less than a minute.
And i taught Gee some one could steal it real quick.
So I decided to make my own.
This is how the first one came out.

I wasn't happy with it so I'm Making another one.
I got the hinges and locking handle from E-Trailer.com @ $ 68.00
I made my own striker from a piece of flat stock,
It bolts to the 2 screws on the inside of the tale gate.
I used 3/4 in. plywood, from Lowe's @ $46.87
Right now it's Stained black, with satin clear polyurethane.
All hard ware is stainless steel. I figure I have $150.00 in parts and material.

Man, that is one handsome cover! Way to go, dude! I'd totally buy one of those if I saw someone selling them!

I'm building a new one for myself,
If you want to buy the old one it's for sale. $ 250.00 :)
Also if I get enough call for them
I'll start making them now that i have a pattern for it.
This is screwed to the truck bed.
And has a lock so no one can steel it,
With out ruining it.
I think i can make them for around $350.00 and make a profit.
The new one is made of oak. plywood.

Thanks for the offer, dude! I don't have the cash right now, AND I'm in Tennessee, so shipping would suck. That being said I'll keep it in my back pocket. :)
