2012 SUBARU BAJA !?!

I was searching around as usual and came by this site that was talking about Subaru and Toyota coming out with new compact Pickups. Let me know if you can dig up anything else on this subject. I dont think this picture of the new 2012 subaru baja has been photoshopped. . But I was wrong when I thought I found the new 2011 lol.

I was talking to the owner of a local Subaru dealership and remarked that Subie should take the Tribeca and use it as a base to build a larger version of the Baja. He just kinda smirked and shrugged which I took as "OK, whatever..." but now I'm not so sure.
I agree with the one guy who said he'd love to see it with a Boxer Diesel.

Sorry, Snorkeled. But that's a Fiat Strada that's been Photoshopped to say "Baja" on the front plate.

There's a huge market for small engine utes in So. America, like the Peugot Hoggar, the VW Saveiro, and Chevy Montana to name a few. They all look cool to me, but the Strada definitely has the most futuristic "Road Warrior" look with the extreme cladding.

Not just S. America, if you've been most anywhere in the Carribean, "utes" are pretty much standard small truck fare. Four door small pickups by Toyota, Nissan, Mazda (NOT Ford Rangers, real Mazdas) rule in the places I've been. Cozumel/Mexico, Curacao, Cayman, Bahamas...
