I was coming home from work about a month ago when I noticed some sort of vibration coming from the front passenger side of my Baja. The vibration occurred as I was making a pretty sharp right hand turn and stopped as soon as I straightened the wheel out. Noticed it again when I made a sharp left hand turn and it again stopped as soon as I straightened out. Wasn't going fast when I made the turns. The vibration noise sounded similar to when you drive a five speed in 5th gear at 5 MPH. The vibration doesn’t happen every time I make a sharp turn either.
Now...it gets better...I was backing up the other day and turned the wheel hard to the left. That is when I heard a clicking sound coming from somewhere under my Baja. Along with hearing this clicking sound, I could also feel a slight "thunk, thunk, thunk" while backing and turning the wheel. By the way, I was pulling into a parking space yesterday and it made the same clicking sound when turning while going forward along with the "thunk, thunk, thunk" but nothing like the vibration I encountered in the first paragraph.
I'm making an appointment tomorrow to get it looked at by the Subaru Dealership just down from where I work.
Anyone else have this problem??? If so, can you fill me in as to what it was and how much it may be to repair???
BTW, I have an 03 MT that just turned 99000 miles.
Thanks.

Re: Front and rear vibration
Most likely an outer CV joint on the front passenger side. Check to see if you have a ripped boot, inner one commonly fails fist throwing grease all over the CAT. Depending on who does the repair, it shouldn't be to expensive, especially if you can do it yourself
Re: Front and rear vibration
Thanks for the response. Checked the boots and they are all intact. Just dropped it at the dealer. Can't wait to hear what they have to say...

CV joint's what I expect, too. I'm curious to hear how much they quote you.
