Spent a lot of time yesterday doing my best at restoring the oxidized finish on my new baja. Was able to get just about all the oxidation with about a full days work [smilie=666.gif] so I am pretty happy. Also used a heavy duty wheel cleaner and tire cleaner as well as restoring the black plastics back to black using an armor all product that works great on plastic and rubber.

Oh yeah, do people do member journals here? I am rs25 the most and was planning on doing one there but if there is a place here to do that as well that would be cool.

I bought my 03 Baja 5 speed a year ago with under 70k miles on it and I absolutely love it. All stock except the snug lid and an aftermarket stereo deck. Today I plasti-dipped the wheels, grill, "baja bars", and lettering on the tailgate. I think it looks really good with the yellow and silver so I thought I'd do my first post and upload a pic.

^looks sweet. All yellow bajas should be decked out in black. Makes them look much better. Was the plasti dip easy to work with compared to paint?

It was probably easier to work with than paint because less masking is required. It really does work just like all the youtube videos show. It's not as durable as paint but I like that you can try out the look without it being permanent. Depending on how well the plasti dip holds up maybe I'll eventually paint the parts.

Looks amazing! I have the same Snuglid topper. Was it difficult using Plasti-dip?

The Plasti dip was really easy to work with. I took the wheels and grill off the car to paint them but I left the bars on. There are tons of how to videos on youtube. Look into a channel called DipYourCar. It really does work just like they show. The only downside is that is not as durable as paint but with that being said I don't have any chips in it yet.
