Steering Wheel vibration that will not go away, need help!

I have a 2006 turbo baja, with 60k miles. I have had the wheels aligned, balanced and rotated mulitple times and still cannot get rid of a steering wheel vibration. The rotors are less than 8k miles. The tires are less than 10k miles and are in great shape.

The dealer has not been able to figure out the issue.

alot of dealers will do an alignment and not check tire pressure and wear patterns...and if they do set the pressure, they'll often set it in the low to mid 30's PSI range, whereas the wonderful tires that are on my Baja ( and may be on yours too) have a 42-44 PSI requirement...tires are often the most misunderstood and overlooked issue in regards to feel and noise issues.

Wonder if they checked the wheel bearings. I know that I recently had to replace my passenger side front wheel bearing that cause part of my vibration problem. That, and my tires were junk.

If you have a Sullivan tire local to you, you might want to stop by and let them balance your tires. I know from running Jeeps with large wheels, that if you had a tire/wheel combo that just wouldn't balance up, a trip to Sullivan would help drastically.

42-44 PSI requirement is not a requirement but the maximum recommended for that tire. Remember, that same tire on your Baja could also be installed on a full size pickup carrying a 1,000 pounds of gravel in the bed.

Check your driver's door. The recommended psi is around 30-32psi. This takes into account the weight of vehicle, payload that it can carry and the contact patch of tire.

Over-inflating the tires will cause the vehicle to "wander" on the road, wear only the center of the tire and not across the entire width and hit everybump and pot
hole "hard".

although the vehicle was aligned, did the techs check all the components PROPERLY and completely..I do alignments for a living and I see more missed worn and bad parts from other shops who bring us their cars to be aligned...basically what I see is, if the part isn't falling out, then it won't be replaced

check the lower ball joints, the inner tie rods both ON the ground and IN the air...check the CV joints and since the vibration is there no matter where the tires are put, it tells me, that the problem is in the front suspension or drive train...bring it to a reputable front end shop where they are specialists in alignments and front end work...

also, if you have access to a Road Force balancing shop, have it done...a tire make look OK while it spins but as little as .016" run out on a tire can cause a vibration on sensitive front ends
