Funny thing happened last month......I was up in BC for a visit and the temp was around freezing. I hit the highway, fired up the CC and nothing.........didn't matter what position I tried to use on the column mounted control, hit the on/off switch a few times, still nothing. So, I gave up, and kept going. About 4-5 hours of driving later, I tried again, and presto - everything worked just fine. I chalked it up to the cold or some gremlin, promptly put it out of my mind and it's worked fine ever since.
So, today, here in NoCal, it hit 20 degrees for the first time since I got the Baja a few years back. Danged if the same thing didn't happen this AM on the way to work - and sure enough, by noon it was almost 40 out and the thing was working fine.
Anybody got any clue as to what might be causing this??? Have any of the right coast folks had the same problem, since they get more cold like that than us nutty Californians????
Since I am moving to BC next summer, I am hoping this isn't a chronic problem with cold weather.........or an expensive one to fix!

Re: Sticky cruise control........
purely talking out of my ass here because I don't have the problem you talk of and haven't looked to see how the CC is set up and equipped on mine...but from a generally speaking perspective, check the CC vacuum pump and see if there is moisture in it, as that freezing might be holding up the works from getting it's job done as it is normally supposed to function.
