2006 numbers?

Post by Baja jaja »

Hi. New here. I've been reading just about everything on this forum the last 2 days and just registered. Any sales numbers for 2006?

Local dealers just ended a big sales push on all Subarus, and I picked up a new Baja Turbo. The liar, er, I mean "car salesman", at the dealership claims the rumors of Baja's demise are false. Personally, the probability that this is the last year of production was a big factor in my buying now!

If you look at the first post in this thread, I keep it updated with the latest totals.

I finally traded in my '03 for the '06 Turbo.......I'm loving it! I ordered the snug top paint to match, tinted windows, splash guards, bed extender, and sub-woofer. I'll post pics soon......not a bad color either.

If you haven't noticed, I have been keeping this thread up to date (see the first post)... and I find it rather depressing.

Marketing could have done wonders. I saw a couple magazine ads but that was it.

I'd like to see a new Baja off the Tribeca platform.

Subaru stockpiled Baja's before ceasing production, consolidating their products onto fewer assembly lines and beginning to produced Camry's for Toyota.

Here are some 07 numbers from Cars 101.com
1/4/07 394
2/4/07 268
3/1/07 217
4/4/07 228
5/1/07 165

2006 Total: 5241
Witchita/04 Turbo

Jaxed---Thank you for listing the details you found on the sales numbers, and for taking the time required to have updated it constantly. I'm glad to really know exactly how exclusive our "Baja Bunch" really is!

As a fairly-new Baja owner (June 28, 2007), I already knew it was a discontinued model when I bought mine. Subaru definitely blew a home run with this model! I'm just sorry I didn't buy it when it originally came out, and honestly thought my chances of getting a new one were gone when I went to the dealer (I went to look at the new '08 Foresters). As one of only 70 posted sales for the month of June '07, I'm glad I was able to get one before they were all gone!

The dealer had it out on the lot for about 4 months, and it had shown no interest. I didn't even notice it myself during my first visit. They moved it into the showroom, and I bought it the next day...without even taking a test drive!! I knew I wanted one, having driven one of the 2003's when they first came out.

I just recently found both the scoobytruck and NASIOC sites and joined both! It's great having a place to get feedback and information.

Jaxed---thanks again for all the time you spend here. I hope we can all get together at a Baja-fest sometime soon!

I originally wanted production numbers, but all I can ever find is sales numbers. I guess it'll do.

Was anyone able to come up with the total number of turbos built?

Thanks!

Is there a breakdown by color for other years such as 2005?
