Headlights are dead dead dead

Post by Atomic Baja »

Jumped into my car to go to work this morning and my headlights aren't working! Fuses are good. Bulbs aren't burnt out. Anyone run into this b4?

Do the brights work, but not the low beams?

Should be easy enough to make sure there is power to the lights. Just check between the power supply wire to each headlight and ground.

If power is there, then it is a control circuit issue. Could be a DRL module issue, could be the headlight switch, or any of the wiring in between.

High Beams work. Guess I need to track down my multimeter...

OK, well that definitely means its on the switch side.

All power (both high and low) come from the same source (same fuse/same wire).

So SOMETHING is not providing the switched ground.

Could be the DRL module, could be the headlight switch, could be the associated wiring.

That would shut off the DRLs, but that wouldn't affect the low beams as activated by the headlight switch would it?

(I can't say for sure as the wiring diagrams don't detail what goes on INSIDE the DRL module).
