Seat Belt Warning Disable?
Has anybody figured out how to turn the darn thing off? I just bought an 06 Baja Turbo last week. I love this truck
, but the seat belt warning chime drives me nuts. I tend to start the car and let it warm up for a minute or two while I'm getting everything sorted before putting my seat belt on. The thing goes off, then stops, and then it starts all over again. Any ideas of what I need to unplug for an easy fix?

It's supposedly in the manual
I have read before that you have to do something like click and unclick the seatbelt 20 times inside of 30 seconds. I have not done this yet, but I want to.
Before anyone jumps on me, I am not suggesting that anyone drive without a seatbelt. There are times when you are sitting in park where that chime is obnoxious (warming the car up, getting out your wallet at the drive-thru, etc.)

I found this link: http://members.cox.net/kamartin/seatbelt.html
It says you have to buckle and unbuckle the seat belt 20 times within 30 seconds with the ignition on but motor not running. I'll try it tonight and see if it works.

There are a few tricks on the scoobys that are done like this. If I remember correctly to change the alarm from chirp on arm/disarm to silent it is a pattern of turn the key on to accessory then back off, open and close the door 3 times and then turn on to accessory again. Or maybe it uses the door lock? I think it's in the manual. And if the arm/disarm key fob is not working (anyone know the expected life of the batteries? Still have the originals in my 03 keys.) once you manually enter the vehicle (with the alarm going off... yay.) you need to turn the key off and on (accessory) 5 or more times in a certain period of time to disable the alarm. I wonder if there are any more items like this? Maybe something to change the thermometer from F to C, or to inside cabin temp? Why does it say "OUT" anyway?ebbie97 wrote:seems kinda annoying to have to buckle and unbuckle 20 times...

I assume it says out menaing 'outside' temperature? It would be nice to be able to switch it around to inside temperature if you desired.Pow wrote:There are a few tricks on the scoobys that are done like this. Also, how about a way to enable a horn honk when locking the car with the remote instead of the little electronic beep. Nice when locking car as walking away....horn honks=car locked.
