I've been to the end of the internet and back looking for a new spare tire for my 2006 Baja Sport. It seems anyone looking for a T145/80 R16 Temporary tire has run into problems for a long time. I've also read conflicting reports about folks replacing the donut with a full size steel spare.
I'd be happy with a new donut, but haven't ruled out replacing it with a full size wheel. The threads I've been reading are pretty old, so does anyone have any recent experiences they can share about what they did?
I need to replace the old donut because it wouldn't last a few miles, the tire is dried out and cracked all the way around.
Sorry mate, we're out of donuts (tires, that is).

IIRC, you can hang a full size spare on the hoist if you remove the cage. Have not completed this, as I just found a hoist for sale.

Does anyone know if it ok to use a T145/90r16 instead of T145/80r16 in an emergency without damaging anything? I can find the 90 aspect ratio tires online but not 80's.

Curious on this topic as well. I, too, went on the endless search for a replacement. Best option I read about for a spare that fit the original location and original hardware was using one from an Outback that, at least, had been a bit more protected from the elements.
What I don’t like about that is those tires are now likely 20+ years old. Anyway, subscribing for other input.
