HVAC Where are deflectors for Air direction?

I have a 2003 Subaru Baja and Can no longer use the switch to direct the airflow to vents. I took it to a mechanic and he said the parts are no longer available. He was not interested in trying to help find them used. I have some airflow from the upper vents to keep the windshield defrosted. And a little bit goes to the floor, but I have no way to change this. Does someone have a diagram or can give me more information on what parts of the dash I need to take off to get to wherever these deflectors are? I can’t seem to find a diagram that shows where they are or how to get to them. Thank you in advance.
