Body Cladding "tape"...?

Post by Chucker »

Hi,
I removed all the plastic body panels on my 2003 Base to do some work on the rust beneath.
There is a thin rubbery line of "tape" or a "gasket" if you will, running along the top edge of each panel.
Does anyone have any idea what that would be called and where I might get some?
- Also curious if anyone has a good source for some of the plastic clips that hold those things in place? (a few broke on removal...

Thanks in advance!

Subarupartsdeal.com

Use Outer Accessories —> Outer Garnish tab at that website. You’ll find this diagram which will lead you to the the parts list for the panels, clips, and “tape” lining, as best as I can tell. There you can ascertain the part numbers of what you need and can use to search the web for replacements.

Hi, I just came across this thread and I have been wondering about this "tape" as well. Mine were originally black but have been bleached white by the hot Florida sun. I had been told that those pieces were discontinued and no longer made, so I am glad to discover they are still available.

Did you manage to get everything put back together? I've never done serious bodywork before so I am hesitant to tackle it myself. Would you say it was easy or hard? Would you mind giving me quick rundown of what is involved? Thanks.
