would adding risers require new tires ?

Post by mescgroup »

Got stuck in the snow last weekend and took many hours to dig out. Someone told me about 2" risers that can be added to the baja to give it more clearance, but if I do that, would I need new tires also?
Thanks

Oh -- also, any real world warnings or gotchas in addind risers?

You can use any size tires you want (as long as they fit the fender wells) Some larger size tires require the lift (risers). My 03 sat so low that I put a 2" lift (spacers) on the front and added 06 springs to the rear. I kept the stock tires. Dennis

IIRC, over 2" lift needs more work to get axles and stuff to line up. May want an alignment for a 2" - couldn't hurt on a 15 yr old car/truck.
