Re: LED headlight replacements and advise
From my experience, LED lights are super bright up close but don't project light very far compared to Halogen or HID. And they don't get hot enough to melt snow off your headlight housings.
Cleaning your plastic lenses till they're clear makes a huge difference in light transmission. I wouldn't make any changes till you have done that.
Also, if you don't have relays for your lights, they aren't getting enough voltage to put out 100% of their rated light output.
Between lights being under-voltaged, and foggy lenses, you're losing a tremendous amount of output. I'd start with that.
If you're still not satisfied with the output, there are higher wattage halogen bulbs (these require a relay to run since they will eventually melt your factory wiring). And then there's HID.

I replaced my lights with a set from Auxbeam and they are amazing. I cleaned my lenses a few times over the last few years and still do when they get foggy. I never had to adjust my lights after installing the LEDs which surprised me. I watched a bunch of videos and tried a.couple different brands of lights before i found something that i liked. The low beam LEDs have almost the same beam pattern as the halogens but so much brighter. The high beam LEDs could light up a small city lol. I put a set in my sons Baja also. He does alot of highway driving at night. He couldnt believe the difference either.
