license Plate Wiring

Post by cypher076 »

I noticed that my license plate lighting isn't working, then figured out the wiring was cut so a tow hitch wiring kit could be installed. Any wiring diagrams available or perhaps a separate toggle switch can be installed to turn it on remotely?

I need it working as part of the state inspection program.

Thanks!

Do your parking lights work? If so then i doubt thats your problem. Have you checked to see if there is power to the light?

Thanks for the reply, the parking lights work so that's not the problem. Specifically, the license plate lighting has been cut and not connected to anything.
It looks pretty simple to reconnect, since it only has two wires. I'm just unsure how to reconnect without shorting anything out.

Thanks.

Disconnect the battery before you do anything.

Use these waterproof butt connectors to resplice the cut wiring.
