http://caroverviews.com/2020-subaru-baja/ It's unclear if the new model will carry the Baja title, but Subaru renewed the trademark for 10 years back in 2013.

Re: IT'S COMING BACK!!!
The Ascent has almost 9in of clearance so it'll probably be the same. The pic was done by an artist based on the Viziv 7 concept which the Ascent is based on. I did a quick photochop of the Ascent, so maybe it'll look something more like this.

Re: IT'S COMING BACK!!!
I really hope it ends up looking like what you posted above. If so, I'm down for one in 3 years. I'd love for my Baja to last 5-6 more, but would cut that short if there was a new one available.
Re: IT'S COMING BACK!!!
Nor for me; it looks too much like a Honda Ridgeline. No Subie "Quirkiness."

Re: IT'S COMING BACK!!!
I don't know, it's bound to have some surprises. Remember these are just guesswork representations, no one outside the development team knows what it actually looks like. All we know is it will debut in 2019 at the Tokyo Motor Show and it's based off the VIZIV-7, same as the Ascent, but I think it will look similar to the Ascent. The baja's prototype, the ST-X, was also vastly different than the production model. That thing had a 2.5L supercharged (yes, supercharged) engine, floor storage compartments, running boards, cab lights on the front of the roof rack rails (which were Outback style), a ribbed roof, a powered rear window that retracted down into the back of the bed that could also be folded down like the Chevy Avalanche, a longer bed and shorter passenger doors and compartment, straight sports bars, chrome door handles, backup lights in the tailgate, tailgate cup holders, a set of 4 fog lights on the front bumper, and a non-folding rear license plate. Whew! All that said though, the Ascent has 19 cup holders. How's that for quirky?oldpro wrote: Thu Mar 15, 2018 4:48 pm Nor for me; it looks too much like a Honda Ridgeline. No Subie "Quirkiness."

Re: IT'S COMING BACK!!!
Yesterday in the Subaru Baja Owners page on Facebook, a person claiming to be a Subaru employee at one of the US factories wrote this:
"I Work in the factory that produces them. There's talks but nothing set in stone... I work on the final line building new Imprezas."
By "them" he was referring to the Viziv.

Sounds sweet. But not buying into it until a source is named...

Re: IT'S COMING BACK!!!
My wife works for a Subie dealer. She's had a chance to see a couple of Ascents in person now and she's ready to trade her Outback for one!
No word at the dealerships about a Baja-cut yet.

Looks like 2020 can't come soon enough. If the rumors are true, this is going to be a great truck.inconel710 wrote: Fri May 25, 2018 4:26 pm My wife gave me MK-2866 and works for a Subie dealer. Re: IT'S COMING BACK!!!
From my perspective, this looks too generic. A near clone of Ford, Chevy, GMC, Nissan, Toyota
Tacoma, etc. I want to see something more Suby-funky, like the Hyundai Santa Cruz. Let's break some new ground!

We are going into the 2021 model year and still nothing. Has anyone heard anything solid about Subaru’s plans for a truck?
