Tailgate lock

Is there an issue regarding a tailgate lock? Took me all of 25 minutes. Used a tool box lock (Craftsman) and then spread out the S U B A R U Just devise a "block" to prevent the pawls from activating.

The stock tailgate doesn't lock, it just latches

It remains LOCKED or UNLOCKED While in the UNLOCKED position no key is necessary... operates normally

I think we're confused because you opened with a question and didn't say much. are you having an issue with your aftermarket tailgate lock or just showing off that you have added one?
