Anyone know how to replace this broken plastic part? Im sure the dealership can get the part but i would rather do the work myself. Had a bit of bad luck my old man went to open my gate and pulled the plastic instead of the handle (it had already been cracked).
Any help would be appreciated!!!

Re: Cracked Tailgate Trim - HELP
Pretty sure there are a couple screws from the inside of the tailgate that hold it on. And you probably have to take off the license plate assembly. Prepare to unscrew a LOT of screws. Torx head is a must-have for this job. But quite easy process. Nothing springs at you or requires a lot of hands/squirming.

just took my tailgate apart recently to install a backup camera.
You'll need a 10mm socket and an extension, philips screw driver and a torx bit (not sure the size) (I had one that was a bit of a pain and decided to strip out. in that case, vice grips came in handy.
You basically need to remove the plastic bed liner on the tailgate.
Once you have that off you need to remove a metal panel that covers the inside of the tailgate.
When that is off you should see the backside of the latch assembly and 3 10mm nuts and one screw with a plastic snap clip. Remove all 4 of them, then gently push the screws through.
That will get the garnish piece out of there.
Reverse steps to replace.
Hope I helped.
