Re: Bed Covers
There are 2 hinges down the length of the bed with a separate piece in front of the roll bars.tomato_88 wrote:Fun! Where is the hinge?
yeah, I thought I had some and I was originally going to get them up the same day. I can't seem to find them right now and the bed cover is off currently. I'll try to get them up as soon as I get some free time.mikenmel08 wrote:Any day time pictures?carsonater wrote:My attempt at a homemade bed cover!

Have a few more pictures, but apparently I can't upload them.
Get the following error:

How about this: I uploaded them to imgur.

I based the top part on the plastic part of the factory soft cover. I got 1/8" thick diamond plate, so, when laid down, this cover can pretty much act as another truck bed layer.

Re: Bed Covers
I was able to remove the front lock assembly and am trying to remove the rusted cylinder from the rear lock so I can see if the latch arm between the two works. I also contacted the company listed on the lock cover remains (www.illinoislock.com) and see if they have any old stock or recommendations for replacement.
I bet the lock barrel assembly is easy enough to find, it's getting the latch arm that will engage the tailgate pin properly (as well as spring loading to make sure the latch arm will allow closing of the cover while the lock is closed) that's the tricky detail.
A side note: were the factory turbo hardcovers black (like the side plastic and around the roll bars? or grey? I can't tell if mine has faded horribly or if it "always was that way" before investing in a few gallons of black plastic restorative from Mother's.

got an awesome deal on a color-matched Snuglid.
All the factory hard cover parts I have are available to whomever picks them up in the next couple weeks.
send me a message if you want em.

Just got my Ozzbros cover today. Can't wait to install it tomorrow. It looks like it is REALLY well made.

The Ozzbros is the best, IMHO. Simple and easy.foxmanb wrote:Just got my Ozzbros cover today. Can't wait to install it tomorrow. It looks like it is REALLY well made.

I definitely wouldn't pay that for one.....I also have the Ozzbros and think it's great....It is not Water proof but it helps a lot....When we take trips I just put our stuff in a couple of plastic bins from Walmart and stick them in the back......Of course now that my wife totalled her baja and got that 2013 Outback I don't think the baja is going on any more road trips....
