What's up with this CV???

Bought a replacement CV for the front driver side of my '05 NA AT right at a year ago from AutoZone. The boot is sucking in on itself... Why?
Also I've got a squeaking/scrubbing noise that seems to be coming from the front driver side. Sounds like a bearing going out, a buddy says it could be my rear brakes echoing up to the front. But its a constant noise that only rarely goes away, sometimes during left turns, sometimes at low speed, sometimes during braking...

Cheap Rubber. It's getting hot and warping the original shape.

Ah. So how bout the squeak? Could it be a dry CV joint? Or should I check the bearings/hub?

You may be suffering from Aftermarket Cv axle problems.

This isn't going to be a pure internet diagnosis.

You're going to have to inspect the FRONT brake components and the CV axle itself. I question the whole rear brakes echoing up front idea.

Jack up the whole car and start turning the wheels, Listen for the sound.

Then use a jack under the lower control arm and jack up one wheel just enough to unload the suspension, then twist,pull and push the Cv axle in all 4 directions. It shouldn't move or make noise. Imagine your build making it wiggle, Now imagine the weight of the car...See what I mean ?

I may give that a try, I found out today I have a lifetime warranty on that cv, just gotta bring the old one in first OR buy the new one then return the old one. Thanks buddy
