Rhino Lined Cladding

My Bajas got a few paint chips and dings on the cladding, which I thought was supposed to hold up better than the rest of the car. Instead the paint seems to scratch and chip far easier esp since it was supposed to be a rock protector. I was thinking of rhino lining the cladding (matte black) and bumpers. Ive seen friends do this on the metal bumpers of their trucks and it looks pretty darn good and holds up much better to debris. What do you all think?

I noticed the same problem. I have seen it done to trucks also and yes it does look good. Personally I am just living with the problem. If you do it post photos!!!

I'm actually planning on doing the same thing. So what do I think? Sure! Go for it! I think it'll be badass.

Are you planning on going with the flat black look, or are you going to color match it?

Im going flat black on the cladding, my Baja currently is the black body, grey cladding.
I always thought the grey cladding looked weird anyways. Black usually looks more agressive and makes the car appear to be taller

True. I plan on doing black (maybe blue, given the right additional mods?) with my silver body.

did you have to scuff the plastic before applying? Have you had any issues with it cracking or flacking?

I don't know if anyone here caught the mythbusters episode where they coated a car with truck bed liner to see if it made it more "crash proof" and it did provide a good bit of protection for low-speed crashes. This stuff even held up a plywood wall from a C4 blast! I don't know that I would coat mine though. I could only imagine what a full set of cladding costs should you not like it.
