2005 STI turboback + uppipe chopped to fit on Baja

Post by STI2NR »

Spent about 16 hours installing this kit on the baja http://www.ebay.com/itm/150716120108?ss ... 4163wt_892

I installed a high flow cat on the dp and replaced the muffler with a twin tip one.

Pics of the mayhem.

Video of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaADBYLu ... ature=plcp

I need a new welder, mine bit the bullet on this project.

Keep on fabbin!

Very interesting! Just for my own clarity:
The ebay ad says both cat-back and turbo-back. It looks like a turbo-back. Which is it?
You bought a separate catalyst and put it in? Does the ebay item include a catalyst?
Do you have a CEL illuminated, and/or did you have to implement a CEL 'fix' to turn it off? If so, what 'fix' did you use?
Thanks!

It's a turboback exhaust. I purchased a separate muffler and separate cat. There is no check engine light at all. No mods needed to be done to fix it. The catalytic converter works as it is designed and the ecu is testament to that fact.

That's pretty cool! I have a cracked exhaust, wouldn't mind eliminating the up-pipe cat anyway to make sure it doesn't let go and destroy the turbo, and this exhaust looks cost-effective. So, if/since it includes a catalyst already, all I'd really need is a separate muffler to eliminate the Folgers system (not to my taste). Thanks!
