Hey I'm really interested in purchasing the 06' turbo, most of the trucks I'm finding are in the 80,000 to 100,000 mile range. I was wondering what the life expectancy of the turbos were or if there were any major mechanical issues around that mileage range.
Thanks,
Zach

Zach, not sure where you are at, but I just got a '06 turbo earlier this year too, 52K miles. And surprising there were a "few" within 300 miles or so like it. So you might expand your search and wait it out a little. You will pay for it tho, but mine is still in warranty until August.. LOL.
I asked a couple dealers and salesmen at dealers about the turbos too. They almost all said (including a guy that's had like 14 turbo cars) that one of the most important things is using great oil and keeping it changed/clean. The turbo obviously runs a lot hotter and will break down oil faster. Using crap dino oil that boils off and degrades into sludge will get you in trouble quicker.
In the 80-100K range tho you are almost at or over the 90K major service intervals (cam belts, plugs, tranny service, etc etc) so judge it that way. I paid a bit more for mine than I would have hoped but they did the 60K services early and a bunch of other stuff that probably wasn't really necessary but good for resale, like brakes and tires. Subaru dealer so they needed to make it retail price ready.. but that means I have at least 40K miles before I need anything supposedly.

I have an '06 turbo sport with sport shift that has leather interior, power windows / seats / moonroof. Front seats are heated. AM/FM/multi disc CD. Driving lights / sport lights on roof rack. Hard bed cover. Has 112K miles on it. Timing belt / water pump changed at 100k miles. Oil changes done every 3K miles. New tires. Car is great overall condition. I purchased with 92K miles on it. All factory recalls completed by local dealer. Mechanic reference available. Located in upstate South Carolina.
