I picked up a pair of Volvo truck flaps for about $31 and some change. Yeah they are embossed with the Volvo logo but those will be tire side so you won't really see them. The have just about the right thickness and durometer.
I used some old mudflaps I pulled off my WRX before I sold it as a basic stencil for the shape and mount locations. There were a couple places I changed the shape a little bit to adapt to the Baja.
Here is the cardboard template on the Baja. You will notice that the "V" are tends to rub on the tire. I did some trimming and deepened that "V" to go below the body of the car slightly and around the plastic liner. It should be low and wide enough to keep quite a bit of stuff off the car and not rub the ground.
I made a slight mistake on the rear template. Where the finger sticks out on the top it was not made wide enough. So I cut out another and added 1" inward on the template. This pushed the flap further out on the body where I wanted it to stick out.
Here is the proper template on the car. If you look at the finger at the top you will see it is a bit wider then the original.
Templates laid out on top of the Volvo flap. Both templates were trimmed up here and there to fit the contours of their respective wheel well. *Plus Kiba giving his 2c and telling me not to screw up like I did on the WRX*
Hmm. Good job! I think they would look better though if you rounded off those sharp square corners. Make 'em blend with the rounded swoopy lines of the Baja more.

I might do that. But I kinda don't wanna pull them off again. . Just wish when I built these things I had a bandsaw available. Would have made making rounded corners and the like a lot easier. I have already gotten a couple of WTF??!! looks from a few local Subaru owners.
