GM gets into the act

Post by bajabob »

Now that the Baja production has stopped GM has decided to release thier own version. Take a look at this photo I took today at Mosport -
Image
This crude prototype still needs the back window and bed liner installed yet but you can see the basic design. Due to frame weakness an extra roll bar is needed and a back wing is required to help with areodynamic flaws.Note the lack of passenger space and fuel milage is said to be horrible. Oh well, at least they got the color right.

I'll take whatever pics you got:) But if you have to host them all, I don't want to trouble you too much. Mostly the interior. The kit is detailed, but the detail it has is rather sparse. But enough to make it pretty realistic looking. Thanks.

Now they are really "getting into the act" with the Denali XT, it is a direct Baja Knockoff... sans Subaru Symmetrical AWD and Boxer Engine. This Denali is a Rear Wheel Drive, what a bummer....how can it be a sport utility truck without at least 4 wheel drive if not AWD....no 4x4? No wonder Toyota beat GM at 1st Q sales...small fuel efficient cars, with a weak dollar and strong yen = a plus for Japan. American automakers better wakeup and smell the coffeee--we went through these same issues in the 1970s when gas prices were high back then.

I am happy with my 26mpg Hwy mileage of the BAJA--try to find a crew cab pickup with that kinda mileage.
