In W. Mass w. NJ 2005 Turbo AT - bodyshop will repair underneath rust for $1000-$1200 but need 2 “discontinued” crossmembers - I’ve searched 10 online dealers (local dealer says 8 exist in U.S. somewhere - usually they are abt. 20% more expensive than cheapest online (Source).
Finding a non-rusty Outback locally seems unlikely & I don’t have finances to cover emergencies if was to drive a CA, or AZ cross-country.
Any body else replace/repair these? Any other thoughts/strategies?
I’m going to try & track these parts this wkend - if unsuccessful order from local dealer on Monday.
