I know you said two-tone, was that unique to the early models? The online parts houses still show the leather one linked below, but it doesn't look two-tone to me...

I didn't know that was a thing. I've only ever seen all black shift knobs. My '03 came with the two tone steering wheel and a black shift knob.

Since all of those online Subaru parts places uses the same servers, that is the essentially the same page that I linked to in my message above, though with a better price!

If the two-tone knob that you are referring to is the one that is solid leather/perforated leather pictured in the link, that knob is for an AT...

After I was able to find a better picture of the knob, I realized it is not 2 tone, just appears that way due to camera flash. And the guys said 5 speed 2 tone does exist

This is getting interesting; a quest for the Holy Grail! :)

What is the two tone combo? I assume black/gray matching the seats...

I found an article that mentioned 2 tone interior https://glenshelly.com/sales/sold-full/2003-subaru-baja
It shows the knob as leather all black, I am wondering if the 2 tone knob was auto only?

Yes the two tone is black and grey like the seats.
The Facebook groups are a lot more active than this forum and there might be someone there with the info. If you're not in it join the Subaru Baja Owner's Club group as well, the people in that group are very informative.
