I recently bought a 2006 Baja Turbo with 100K miles on it. I live near Yosemite. When I come up Old Priest’s Grade (1800’ in 2 miles) the last 1/4 mile or so, it makes a low bogged down sound. It doesn’t lose power, but it sounds like a clogged catalytic converter. After reaching the top, it quiets down in a mile or so. I’ve been using New Priest’s Grade which is almost 5 miles and have had no problems.
Does this sound like the turbo is working too much without enough speed for cooling? Is it typical? Or normal?
Thanks
