ipod for stock radio?

Post by Dan »

Can an ipod be connected to a 6 disc factory radio in a 2005 Baja. I just got my Baja. I love it. But I would like to use my pod in it. I would like to keep the factory radio.
Thanks for being here.

Someone either here or on NASIOC has done it with an FM Modulator. Their post even included step by step photos of the process.

I installed an FM modulator ~$50 from Car Toys. See it here!

I picked up an FM modulator so that I can listen to my iPod with my "stock" head unit and not have the crappy distortion of a crummy FM transmitter (read: iTrip).

What is an FM modulator. Is is a unit for broadcasting via radio waves or it it some kind of line input device?

Thanks for the quick responses.

a true modulator is actually wired between the antenna and the headunit and acts like an FM station. You don't get the distortion of things like iTrip or Soundfeeder because its not having to actually transmit the signal through the air.
