Moon roof relay? Please help?

Post by sykemikeg »

I bought a 2005 Baja non turbo with no moon roof switch in it to open the sliding moon roof back. So I got a new switch, installed it and it works. The problem I have is after fully Open, it closes part of the time. After driving a little bit it final closes. I checked the ground wire and it's tight. Wondering if there is a relay I can replace and where that relay is at? It's such a pain not knowing when the moon roof will close or later when I keep trying. Scared I'm going to break new switch. Please help?

Make sure you aren't just seeing the normal characteristic of it only closing part way. That, supposedly, is a safety feature to keep things from getting pinched in there. Push the switch again and it should go. Is this your problem or is there more?

Yes sir, that is a very true statement. This happens when all the way fully Open position. I hit the bottom, nothing happens. Then again, then again, then again, then again, then finally it shuts part way like it supposed to. Release switch, then apply again, then it finishes closing fully shut. I figured a relay. Thank you for replying.

I'll have to listen for it next time I use mine. Figure out where it's located for ya.

Listened for it...didn't hear anything but the clicking of the switch itself. I'm not entirely sure it has a relay. Actually leaning on it not having one. One could check the wiring diagram which should be in the files if not here, on the facebook page.

Thank you. So does my 2005 Baja have a controller module? If so where would it be at?
