tailgate debadge

Post by bajabob »

Just a quick note on those thinking of this. The awd sticker comes off nice and clean but two of the letters in the subaru name have locating pins. This will leave you with two small holes in a 1/4 dimple about 8 inches apart. I didn't try removing the Baja logo.

Thanks for the info, Bob. What did you do to cover up the holes?? I am thinking of removing all of that chrome crap too. I am not a fan of chrome anything. Besides, then nobody will know what the hell I'm driving!! Mike

Right now I am just putting up with the holes - I'm going to start looking for something to cover them up soon. Use a bit of fishing line to cut the emblems loose and then warm up the leftover backing with a hair dryer and rub it off if you deicide to try this.

Yah, its a pain, I have done this crap before. Sure can rub the skin right off of your finger doin this, but its the easiest way to get that damn adhesive off. Mike

I want to do this when it gets warmer, but plan to replace the "subaru" with a sticker of the same size. I can't stand waxing around all the raised letters.

I removed the AWD and BAJA last night, no pins in the BAJA. Used waxed dental floss.

Which letters in SUBARU have the mounting pins?

Cliffhanger is correct - To get a preview of the holes you can pull off the inside cover(s) of the tailgate.
