Howdy! So a couple years ago my check engine light came on with the code for transmission range sensor circuit malfunction. Needless to say, I took the dealer's recommendation and replaced it for a whoppin $100 and it fixed nothing.
I was wondering:
if anyone has had this problem and knows what's going wrong,
If there is supposed to be little lights indicating what gear you're in next to the shifter (auto)
and if it could be a nasty tranny issue even though my tranny seems fine.
couple other things to note: the light went off over the winter. It magically reappeared when I got my AC fixed. (probably unrelated, but a strange coincidence) I also smell a faint smell of burning rubber when my differential slips.
Any ideas? any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
