I don't have a clue, although I got 31 mpg once on a trip. Maybe some different engine management, or did they put the variable valve timing on the 2.5 engine this year?? Mike

I get 25+mpg all the time with mostly 60 mph highway miles and 27-28 overall in the summer. Just did the 30k service, and it runs much smoother with the new NGK laserplats maybe even more mpgs to come!

FWIW, I'm never under 26 mpg in city/highway mix, and have touched 34 mpg highway. I must drive like a grandma.... or I can't do math.

I average about 29 miles per gallon every week in my '03. Gasmileage depends on a lot of factors, so it is somewhat hard to figure out. Style of driving, manual vs automatic, etc. During the winter months I drop to about 26 mpg, due to the colder air. Nevertheless, I think Bajas in general are pretty efficient compared to other cars (and trucks).

I am getting about 22-23 right now, but that includes the remote start running for 20 minutes every morning to warm it up. So my mileage sucks in comparison to you guys, but I like a warm car every morning when I go to work. :D Mike
