Post by thetoadinpa »

i have listed some items that the baja didn't have but should of

-locking tailgate
-sliding rear window
-60/40 backseat with a 60/40 hatch door
-the rear luggage rack should move back farther, in
order to haul longer items with out them touching
the roof

the tailgate lock has me baffeled, why didn't they add this ????????

I second the locking tailgate and the sliding rear window-the concept had one that went down somehow...

  • o mp3 player (or RCA inputs anyway)
    o power driver's seat
o STi-type hood scoop for turbo models
o single rear facing seat for bed (yeah!)
o trunk monkey (of course, no trunk... what can you do?)

Definitely a sliding rear window and locking tailgate. It mystifies me why the tailgate does not lock.

I suppose that the engineers figured that with the $hitty tonneau that doesn't keep anyone out of the bed, why lock the tailgate. I agree that a slider would be nice, but the glass prolly supports the roof of the Baja somehow, so they couldn't take a chance on weakening the structure. Just my $.02 worth. Mike

guys,

please enlighten me with the whole tail gate lock. What is the big deal? If the tailgate locks you still have a ginourmous opening right. :?:

...not if you have a tonneau cover (especially a hard one). With this and a locking tailgate, camera's, luggage, and other expensive items can be left in the bed safe from thieves.

Without a tailgate lock, the tailgate can be opened and thus removed/stolen. Doesn't happen often, but I've had enough pickups to know that the gates go missing.

Missing feature on the baja? A drink holder large enough to hold the one-liter bottles. My Sport Trac console had a drink holder on a swivel. Flip it one way for the 20-ozers, and the other for big bottles.

Another nice feature would be a 12-volt outlet in the truck bed. Easier to plug in accessories during tailgate parties.
Be careful what you ask for; you just might get it.

I have seen the light brother!! If the bed had a lock I wouldnt have to worry bout them stealing my bed extender. So it'd be bed lock and a little robot like buck rogers had for me. Thats all I would need for my Subie.

Hey,

Sliding rear glass, or full transformable mid gate like the avalanche, full size spare, a better seal for the 1st soft cover, a better quality soft cover  a jack that isn't so retarted, the H6 from the outback

Someplace to hang window rainguards, I drive with my window down 2 inches and the rain drips right onto the door electronics. I'm sick of getting beaned with giant raindrops! Splat!
