Rola Roof Basket Install tips?

Hey, all~
Just getting around to installing a new Rola rack I bought a few weeks back. Anybody already gone down that road and have any tips on making things easy? I noted that the instructions call for a slightly wider minimum bar spread than is possible on the Baja (bit more than 1") and wondered if anyone here has installed one already and if there were any issues with bar spread or bar width and fitment?? I plan on siliconing the join and replacing all hardware with stainless steel. Anyway, if anybody has any thoughts or suggestions, please chime in! Thanks~

I used brush on electric tape. See, I use 100% RTV Silicone at work, and have for the past 12 years. It doesn't last forever. It'll shrink after time with some heat. We pay almost $4 a tube at bulk discount price too.

I used the brush on electric tape at the joints and wrapped that in Super 88 electric tape which can take the heat and moisture.


I did not buy your basket, so I have nothing specific to your model.
