Engine Swap

Okay, this has probably been beaten to death, but im gonna ask it anyway....

is it possible to swap an engine from an outback into a baja? It makes sense in theory, since they're so similar... but i remember reading a while back about how there were a lot of potential pitfalls.... but in theory it seems that it would be a simple swap....

any other engines that can be swapped? I think i've seen someone drop a wrx engine into one a few years back.

as I understand it an outback from 200-2004 should be completely compatable with a baja. Why do ask out of curiosity?

I realize (after driving past an H6 today) that the outback could have an H6 in which case I have NO idea if that would fit.

yes i was considering the ez30 or the ez30r from the 05 outback.

also is the 2.5 in the outback xt different from the 2.5 in the baja?
